Proposed legislation will affect attorneys under powers of attorney significantly, as follows: (a) attorneys must provide annually a financial accounting to the government; and (b) a new powers of attorney registration system will be established by the government.

Canada has introduced a Parent and Grandparent Supervisa, which is valid for up to 10 years. The multiple-entry visitor's visa allows a parent or grandparent to remain in Canada for up to 24 months at a time.
